The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying:
“Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love;
Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.
Again I will build you, and you shall be rebuilt…”
The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.
Promise for March via Jesus Calls
You have made known to me the path of life; You will fill me with joy in Your presence, with eternal pleasures at Your right hand.
Happy Days indeed when the Lord is in our midst!
To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
That they may be called trees of righteousness,
The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.
I recently read the book Stormie – A Story of Forgiveness and Healing by Stormie Omartian.
In the book Stormie describes her troubled childhood, being brought up by an abusive Mother who would keep her locked in a closet & the cruel taunts, verbal abuse she endured all through her childhood, even into adulthood.
This is the moving account of her battle with depression, the occult, alcohol & drugs that were a part of her life as a young artist in Hollywood, often performing on the Glen Campbell Show. With a miserable first marriage that followed, which made a bad situation infinitely worse, the anxiety attacks & recurring depression…hers was a tragic life to say the least.
Stormie’s mentally ill Mother was later diagnosed with schizophrenia; the book painfully describes a mind that had simply become sick. Amazing is the steadfastness of her Father, who refused to have his wife committed & endured her insults & insane behaviour till the very end.
What comes out so powerfully is God’s deliverance of a life that was hurtling down the cliffs of destruction. It is a story of such amazing power – the incredible intervention of Jesus Christ as He entered the scene of a devastated life, how He delivered her & restored her to fullness…eventually. Jesus built something beautiful out of a life that was in ruins. It’s awesome what the Master Potter can do!
He has made all things beautiful in its time (Eccl 3:11)
Powerful & inspiring, this is one book which is a must read.

For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
~ Romans 8:38,39
God sometimes wants to shut a door completely before He can open doors to new possibilities. Maybe you have had some doors close in your life. In spite of everything, know that God is stirring you to accomplish His purpose in your life. God knows what it takes to bring order back to your life. Trust Him. He’s working on something and when He’s done, everything around you will be made better.

In the morning when I wake up,
I will sing my praise unto You my Lord
I will shout, I will dance to You
You have been my help, forever and ever
Love the story of King David & how he worshipped the Lord, as described in the Book of Samuel. His wife Michal despised his behaviour as she witnessed it & so brought judgement on herself eventually. We got to be careful not to judge others! I especially find King David’s humility amazing in his response to her – And I will be even more undignified than this, and will be humble in my own sight.
II Samuel 6: 14-23
14 Then David danced before the Lord with all his might; and David was wearing a linen ephod.
15 So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the Lord with shouting and with the sound of the trumpet.
16 Now as the ark of the Lord came into the City of David, Michal, Saul’s daughter, looked through a window and saw King David leaping and whirling before the Lord; and she despised him in her heart.
17 So they brought the ark of the Lord, and set it in its place in the midst of the tabernacle that David had erected for it. Then David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the Lord.
18 And when David had finished offering burnt offerings and peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the Lord of hosts.
19 Then he distributed among all the people, among the whole multitude of Israel, both the women and the men, to everyone a loaf of bread, a piece of meat, and a cake of raisins. So all the people departed, everyone to his house.
20 Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, “How glorious was the king of Israel today, uncovering himself today in the eyes of the maids of his servants, as one of the base fellows shamelessly uncovers himself!”
21 So David said to Michal, “It was before the Lord, who chose me instead of your father and all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the Lord, over Israel. Therefore I will play music before the Lord.
22 And I will be even more undignified than this, and will be humble in my own sight. But as for the maidservants of whom you have spoken, by them I will be held in honor.”
23 Therefore Michal the daughter of Saul had no children to the day of her death.
Praise God for His Grace, that we are alive to worship Him today.
Grateful for the countless times Jesus has saved & protected me & my dear ones.
Grateful for His protection, everyday.
Grateful for His blessings, everyday.
Grateful for His presence in my life.
Each day is a gift of His unlimited love & grace. Praise the Lord!
For I know that my Redeemer lives, And He shall stand at last on the earth.
But He knows the way that I take; When He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold. [Job 23:10]
What better way than worship to get connected to the Lord on a Sunday (or any day for that matter)
I still remember her distinctly. A stooped old woman with gnarled hands. She was a beggar who used to visit our house frequently many years ago asking for alms.
She was very fond of me & would never hesitate to display her affection by reaching out a bony finger to tap me. She loved to indulge in some light-hearted banter. Her toothy grin was infectious. I really took to her & liked her too.
Slowly, she made it a point to come more often.
Slowly, I started viewing her frequent visits with suspicion.
I began to wonder if she was taking advantage & making a fool out of me.
Almost immediately a small voice within asked me to open the Bible with a very specific command to “turn to page #_, bottom right”.
I eagerly opened my Bible to the specific page & looked to the bottom right. The words that stared back at me were “We are fools for Christ’s sake.”
I was stunned!
I was a very new Christian & not aware of too many scriptures & least of all this! It was nothing but God sharing His specific word about a person & situation He cared for.
Many years have passed since that incident, I have no idea where that old lady is…may she be blessed wherever life has taken her.
